Aisling Bea

Aisling is a popular Irish comedian, who's been performing for quite a while. Born in Kildare, Ireland, on 16th March 1984. Bea has appeared on QI together with Stephen Fry. Aisling O'Sullivan, also known as her stage name Aisling Bea (born March 16, 1984), is an Irish actor, writer and comedian. Bea began her stand-up comedy career in the year 2011, following appearances in bits in several Irish television shows and British shows since the year 2009. In 2012, she started to appear regularly on sitcoms and sketch shows. In 2012, after winning an award during the Edinburgh Comedy Awards she began being booked frequently for different panel shows, where she was a frequent guest. From 2016 to 2017 she served as a captain on 8 Out of 10 Cats and a regular contestant in the show's sequel 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown. The child was born to Brian O'Sullivan as well as Helen O'Sullivan. Sinead is the younger of her siblings. In 2012, she was the second woman ever to be awarded the So You Think You Are Funny Award. The surname of Bea is in honor of her late father. Aisling O'Sullivan, also known as Cliodhnadh Aisling was born in Kildare town, which is located in County Kildare. Her father Brian was a vet for horses that committed suicide aged three. She did not learn the cause of her death until 13 years later. She chose the stage name Bea in honor of her deceased father. Bea also published an article published in The Guardian on her family's suicide story. Bea (and her younger sister Sinead) were brought up in the same home as Helen Moloney who was a educator and jockey trainer who was also a professional jockey. She and her family loved horses, races and racing. Bea spent her childhood as an instructor at the Irish National Stud. From a very young age, Bea knew that she didn't want the racing industry. She was more interested in the performing arts.
