John Denver is a popular musician and singer who has touched a lot of people through his music. Many of these have roots in Colorado. Henry John Deutschendorf Jr. is a Mexican-born artist and songwriter who fell in love with Colorado. Denver's most popular songs about his new home state drew many tourists to Colorado. G. Brown of Colorado Music Hall of Fame, the hall's curator of fame, stated: "I don't believe there anyone else who has as much a connection to Colorado as John Denver." Denver was the Hall of Fame's first ever inductee. For many, Denver is the Colorado image. In all my travels I have met many non-Colorado residents. Colorado. They will beg, "Oh John Denver!" When they hear you come from Colorado. Brown stated. Denver's debut Top 10 hit as a solo artist after a brief period of performing with small folk-based groups comprised of Take Me Home Country Roads composed by Bill Danoff. Danoff used Johnny Cash as the inspiration for the song, but Denver realized that it could be a huge hit after he heard an earlier version. The song was recorded just several weeks after the Washington D.C. performance.
